A Spirited Update

Hiya, my lovelies!

Chapter four of Spirits in the Mist is now published for your reading pleasure! I offer my apologies for how long it took me to get an update out. Hopefully, the chapter length makes up for it. At 7300+ words, it is the longest chapter of Spirits, yet. It is from Bella’s point-of-view and I have to admit I had a bit of a struggle with it. I find it much more difficult to write from her perspective. There were a couple of rewrites, only to have the power go out when I went back to edit the final draft. Word didn’t auto save my edits and I had to go back and redo them. Believe me, I was not a happy camper! I do think the chapter turned out okay, though.¬†But I’ll leave that for you to decide. ūüėČ Don’t hesitate to let me know what you think!

Chapter 4: Stop and Smell the Roses

A New One-Shot, Against All Odds

I Think I may¬†have mentioned it a while back that I wrote a story based on a song and as you can guess, the song is “Against All Odds” by Phil Collins. It is now published for you to read.

I have been inspired by music quite often when I write, but I’ve never based a story solely on a song itself. I’ve seen it done before and thought I’d attempt it. I considered it a writing challenge and I wanted to see if I could accomplish it. I would say that I succeeded, but the opinion of¬† whether¬†it’s any good, I will leave up to you. I¬†happen to like it, though…

Now you may question why I chose this song in particular. Well, it is my all time favorite song. I remember being a little girl waiting at a bus station to pick up someone with my mother when this song came on the radio. I may have been too young to understand the meaning of the lyrics, but the melody of the piano touched my very soul.  It is haunting and beautiful. As I grew up and experienced more about life and relationships, I begun to understand the meaning behind the words. I think Phil Collins really wrote something from the heart and you can hear it in his voice as he sings the song. It is just one of those songs that has always stayed with me.

The idea for the story itself came to me one day when I listened to the song and the opening scene and dialogue just came to my mind. From there the story grew and became what it is.

I truly do hope you enjoy it. Click on the banner below to take you to it.

A Devil Of A Story

Hello Everyone! I just published the first chapter to my new story, The Devil Inside. I had intended it to be a one shot, but the muse keeps pushing for more, more, more. What can I say? He’s a devil, that one is!! ūüėČ ¬†So, now this will be a short story. Much like A Christmas Dream turned out to be.

So with a little bit of nervousness and fanfare,I present Chapter One of The Devil Inside. Click on the picture below to take you to it! I hope you like it. It’s a little different from my normal flair.

Hello There!

I just wanted to update and let you lovelies know that I am still working on my stories. I finally have a title for the flip-the-switch vampire Bella story I mentioned in the last post. That will be called The Devil Inside. And if you are wondering….yes, it is from the INXS song. Here’s a peeky at the banner for it.

I also have a title for my Charmed/Twilight story. That one is called A Kind of Magic.¬†That too, was inspired¬†by a song. This time,¬†Queen. I often get inspired by music when I write. In fact, a couple of stories were inspired by songs. One day, I hope to write a story where each chapter is named after a song title. ūüėČ

A Kind of Magic

I still have no title for the Stefan/Bella story. The story itself is coming along nicely, though. I should have something published for you some time before the end of next week. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

A Little Dream For You!

Hi everyone! Still feeling a little icky from my anxiety/panic attack I had the other day, but I have been writing a bit on A Christmas Dream. I have 2500 words typed so far, so it will probably be up in a few days. In the meantime, here is a small snippet for you. I hope you enjoy!

‚ÄúI love you.‚ÄĚ Bella‚Äôs voice was reverent as she whispered the words.

A few moments passed between them as he fought the conflicting emotions of thanking whoever was responsible for giving him her, this gift, and the smidgen of doubt that he didn‚Äôt deserve her. He closed his eyes, sighing before he opened them and softly replied, ‚ÄúI love you.‚ÄĚ He¬†meant each word he spoke and¬†the weight of them carried through his tone.

She smiled against him, tugging him closer. She traced lazy circles on his arm while she thought over the past year. It had been a whirlwind, and it not been easy. But, it was worth it. Damon was worth it, she thought.

They had been through so much in such a short amount of time, and yet here they were still very much in love. Maybe even more so now than when they first met.

Bella lifted her gaze to see that Damon was asleep. He looked so peaceful, so innocent, that it was kind of hard to fathom he was a bad ass vampire who could easily rip your heart out then ask questions later. But he was hers, and she loved that irrational nature of his just as much as she loved his passion for life. The passion he exhibited every time he kissed her, every time he looked at her, every time they made love. He had taught her life was an adventure to be lived, to explore and enjoy. She could never have asked for anyone better.

*Please keep in mind this is unedited and certain things may be changed slightly in the final version. Thanks for reading!

What Time Is It?
