Chapter four of Spirits in the Mist is now published for your reading pleasure! I offer my apologies for how long it took me to get an update out. Hopefully, the chapter length makes up for it. At 7300+ words, it is the longest chapter of Spirits, yet. It is from Bella’s point-of-view and I have to admit I had a bit of a struggle with it. I find it much more difficult to write from her perspective. There were a couple of rewrites, only to have the power go out when I went back to edit the final draft. Word didn’t auto save my edits and I had to go back and redo them. Believe me, I was not a happy camper! I do think the chapter turned out okay, though. But I’ll leave that for you to decide. 😉 Don’t hesitate to let me know what you think!

Bet you are wondering what I’m going on about. Well…. I have you know that part two of Second Chances is now published. It’s titled All That She Wants. Yes, it was named after the Ace of Base song. I truly hope you enjoy it! Just clicky-click-click on the picture below to take you to it!
Can you believe I am actually posting something already? I actually had a chance to sit down and go back and read through the first section of the story I mentioned in yesterday’s post. I had done some editing before I submitted it to Fandom4Autism, but I still felt a little tweaking was needed I’ve read through it twice and I think it is about as good as will ever be. I hate editing my own work. I can do other people’s with no problem, but find myself overly critical when I do my own. Okay, I admit it – I am a little insecure when it comes to my writing and have a massive fear that I suck at it. But hey, I am not perfect! I just do the best I can and have to accept it. I know there are probably mistakes in my work, even after I edited it and worked on it more than once. I love my story, Reflections – but cringed at some parts of it and at some of the lengthy paragraphs when I recently re-read it. However, that was my first published story and I just don’t have the heart to go back and fix it. So that one will stay as it is. All I can do is hope I get better at both writing and editing. I just have to realize that I am not perfect, and I am by no means a pro at this. Writing is just something I do that I enjoy.
That said, I truly do hope you enjoy the new story. Second Chances is the name of the story and it’s first part is titled Bat Out of Hell. Click on the picture below to take you to it and please leave a comment and let me know what you think! Happy reading!
Boy! I’ve had such a devil of a time lately…Sick kiddo, anxiety attacks, and a pain-in-the- butt of a hubby. Then there was a heat wave, thunderstorms, and some bickering birds at my bird feeders…*giggles mischievously*
Are you about to tell me to shush, yet?
Okay, okay, okay….I guess I will tell you it is update time for The Devil Inside. It is a bit longer than the other chapters in this story and Mr. Muse was quite the little devil and I have to pop this on here… Clicky-click on the picture below to take you to it.
To my fellow Americans- I hope you, your loved ones and your friends all have a happy and safe Independence Day! Enjoy the BBQ’s and the fireworks! Happy Birthday to the land of the free and home of the brave!
Yep, I’m in a ‘devil’ of a mood and have been tapping away at chapter four of The Devil Inside. I am hoping to get it finished and published for ya sometime this week. In the meantime, I will tease you with a little snippet:
Elena Gilbert was never a soul to leave well enough alone. She thought that she was being clever and as she tip-toed through the Boarding House.
Damon had been expecting her to try such a move at some point or another. He cocked his ear from where he stood in the kitchen, hearing the splashing of liquid in a bottle. Blood, he thought. He reckoned Elena never truly learned her lessons after, all…
The last time she tried that maneuver had been when Katherine was in the tomb, when she was trying to pry information from the evil bitch. He guessed that this time, she was trying to play good cop to his bad cop routine and besides, little Miss Gilbert couldn’t help herself when it came to meddling with things she had no business meddling in.
He smirked, then thought on it for a minute while he took a healthy swig from a blood bag. He decided not to interfere. He’d enjoy the little princess biting off more than she could chew. Isabella was most definitely not the sweet and shy pushover Elena was used to. He didn’t think she realized that. She probably thought she could simply talk to her and persuade her to turn her emotions on. After all, his Iz had been truly selfless at one time and would do almost anything to please others.
Hope you liked it! Remember, things may/may not change in the final edit, but I think this part will stay pretty much the same. Happy Father’s day to all the Dads out there and I hope y’all had a great weekend! Remember to vote in the Fanatic Fanfics Awards, if you haven’t yet!
